It's been a long time, I shouldn't of left you

So yeah, sorry about that, been a bit busy like. And also of a constant mindset that no-one really gives a shit about what we write on here anyway. Oh well. HI MURF!

We've had a pretty brilliant couple of months in all honesty. The E.P has come out (http://archive.org/details/DontLetParisFoolYou for a free download) and has been receiving pretty good reviews from all over the shop. We also played HOMESTEADFEST which was the greatest two days I've spent in a long time. So, for that, I'd like to say a big thanks to Harry, Murf, Olly, Charlie, Sam, Old School, Fish, As We Sink!, WeGrowBeards, James Hull, Sam Russo, Johno, Hannah and everyone else who put a beautiful spin on the world that weekend.

We also went on tour, which was rad. Harrogate STILL knows how to get down, Reading knows how to party, Random Hand know how to be brilliant and welcoming hosts and people, on the whole, do NOT like you gettin' 'em with water pistols out of a moving car. I saw far too much male nudity, not nearly enough (by this I mean, none whatsoever ) female nudity, drank too much, didn't eat or sleep nearly enough to be healthy yet still managed the whole thing without throwing up.
(also, don't ever think that it is funny to wander out of a public toilet cubicle butters, as your band will probs of already left, leaving you with the confused looks of other people in need of a wee)

So, what now? Well, I'm really happy to announce that we're playing REBELLION FESTIVAL this coming weekend. The line up is totally rad so it's gonna be epic to not only play, but also check out some wicked bands.
We ain't actually make it there til the weekend as on Thursday night we're playing with the frankly world beating ONSIND and the always wonderful JUST ANOTHER WARNING at a house show in Leeds. Nice.
Then, this coming Tuesday, we're playing with The Damned in York! Which is rad.
Actually everything is rad.
Especially you!

Shittin' Crikey!

So 4am, wide awake and half cut with an endless gaslight playlist maybe not the ideal to update a blog, but as my phone seems to of given up on numbers on other sleepless soulds i figured a new post could at least pass ten minutes.
So what's new with you?
We've grown again, along with our two guitars and mandolin we now have a bassist. He's rad, and it sounds awesome, thanks for asking.
We've kinda stopped writing new songs for a while, as we're finally happy with where we're at, and really get these songs played to death before we start chucking brand new ones into the set.
We recorded a new E.P just before Rob joined, which kinda sucked as it's that we're gonna be gigging and (trying to ) be selling. But then today on a sing a long filled drive back from liverpool we worked out that we can recorded the bass and mix it in before it's released. Awesome.
It's got four tracks, and it's called 'First Time Caller, Long Time Listener"
It'll be for sale at shows, and also as a free download as soon as we get it polished off.

That's all for now

Here are some things that are rad

The awesome, and unexpected group of punk rock fans in the sleep town of Harrrogate.

Joiners and Windmills by Apologies I Have None.

Going cheap on the whisky and top range on the mixer.

Turn ups on too tight jeans.

Let in these hands to hold by Mega Games.

Storms clearing the stuffy weather, just for a day.

HOMESTEADFEST

Big love,as always, to the whole threee of you that read this.

Good Golly Miss Holly

Anyone else remember Molly Holly? You know, tied in with Hardcore & Crash (god rest his soul) back in the glory days of WWF?

This blog (from here on in) actually has nothing to do with wrestling.

Blast.

We're playing a show in liverpool on Monday night with some awesome bands, click back onto our profile to see the flyer, then deffo go check out the rest of the bill, it's all wicked.

I am super excited for this show.

Anyway - Here a couple of reviews I came across kicking about on cyberspace.
One is really old, from back last year of a solo show (my last one actually before Graeme joined) I did with The King Blues in York.

The second one is a kinda overall review of "Don't Let Paris Fool You" from the Shattered Glass Music website, which is run by a very charming young man by the name of Craig Slaney.
He books us alot.
Good times indeed.

Jacuzzi Poops

So, our first show with a mandolin player is fast approaching, faster than we'd thought infact, as me and tom will be playing next friday (26th march) in York as a two piece as a last minute addition to a line up.

this will be fun.

recently i posted a picture of tom in fancy dress, to announce his joining of our band.

Here is a picture of him looking how he normally does, on a day to day basis.

the ol' swine flu

graeme here.

my health so far in the year of 2010 has been fucking awful. as most know, im in my final year of uni. so being ill causes major problems. the first ailment of 2010 was cracking my ribs on my ice covered doorsteps. which led to me missing the gig at city screen in york which was annoying. it seemed that after that i was to be ok and could start playing gigs again as i could stand up, and breathe, without it hurting. it turned out that our next two gigs got cancelled which was also annoying. (as im typing this, im listening to four year strongs cover of ironic by alanis morrissette. which in itself is quite ironic... is that a hycoo?) anyway, i digress, ive had the flu over the past week and went to the doctors today, turns out its the ol' swine flu. not serious or anything, but i have been in bed for the past 5 days shivering my balls off. whilst sweating, looking paler than an embalmed michael jackson (insert mental image here).

but from wednesday i think some sense of normality may return to my life. elliot, and our new mandolin player (think his name is tom? not too sure... some ruffian anyway) will be coming to liverpool and we aim to have a 6hour love-in and possibly play some songs, for the first time since CHRISTMAS! the new songs we have give me a firm semi. its a good feeling.

in other band news, im well excited to say that we have our first gig in liverpool. its on the 19th april at bumper on hardman street. its all down to mark murphy from crocodile god for putting us on the bill (which is topped by the accelerators!) so thank you to mark.

in other general news. the brilliant boys in onsind are coming to liverpool on the 3rd april. its at mello mello and should be boss.

also, just because i need to get this off my chest... i saw the lovely bones the other day. its safe to say that my hatred for peter jackson now increases on a film by film basis. the first half hour is brilliant, then the cgi-loving knob spoils it.

thats all from me. i imagine we shall update from the practice rooms at lipa on thursday.

graeme x

Curse these metal hands.

HELLO!

You (whoever 'you' are - if anybody) may (or may not as the case be may) of noticed that this ol' blog has not been updated for many a moon. I wish i could say that there was a life altering , ground shaking reason for this, but in all honesty it's just cuz i ran out of steam somewhat.
Not with the ol' music of course, just with writing about stuff, as i feared expressing myself pherhaps made me come across in the wrong way, or as a tool with not much to say, but a desperate need to say it non the less. Which, maybe, is a true expression of myself anyway (you ever read our lyrics?!?).

I played a solo show a couple of weeks back in York. Poor old G broke his ribs and despite his best intentions simple couldn't make it back from L'pool. So, reluctant to pull out of a gig at the last minute i endeavoured to play it myself.
It was fun, played some songs we don't play anymore, had a bit of good banter with the crowd, probaly drank too much before playing. It felt strange, going back to it being just me on the stage, and whilst i did have a great time and the songs went down well, it won't be something I'm in a rush to do again. It didn't feel quite right, playing those songs and taking credit for them without Graeme being a part of it. And also, group vocals suck when there is just little ol' me shouting down a mic.
We're probaly going to be a three peice pretty soon. Once our friend Tom has learnt all the correct songs, and we've practiced a few times he is going to be joining us on mandolin. I'm pretty excited, i think it'll open up a few more options for us when it comes to song writing, plus I've always been a sucker for 3 way vocals.

Now, to backtrack - As it happens, i am actually playing another solo show very soon. VALENTINES DAY at the Homestead in Southampton - another one G can't make due to prior commitments, but as i was going to be down there anyway I'm gonna play a set.
It's been ages since i played a house show, and this one is possibly one of the best line ups ive ever been a part of. CYNICS, JAMES HULL, TIM VANTOL and SAM RUSSO. What more could you ask for, along with a few bottles of red wine, on the silliest day of the year?
It's gonna be smashing.

I like you.
Elliot.

P.S - We're gonna record an album soon! Lots of new songs on the way, thought we might aswell lay 'em all down at once and bring something out that we've put alot of time and love into.

P.P.S - We're gonna do a tape split with Dave Hughes soon! Need to sort out a few more things to do with that though, so keep hanging on!

P.P.P.S - Grant Mitchell is coming back to Eastenders soon!

P.P.P.P.S - Get the tissues ready, it's man shandy time...
